The Smart Transport Advisory Group (STAG) is an independent forum to represent suppliers of smart ticketing equipment and services for the transport industry.

STAG aims to offer its experience to transport operators, card issues and product issuers regarding how they can best achieve seamless interoperable ticketing with smart solutions. The Group intends to operate according to Chatham House rules to develop a broad range of proposals, based on open standards, industry specifications and experience, that addresses the needs of transport operators.

Smart Transport Advisory Group activities:

  • Proposals may cover all aspects of the smart ticketing lifecycle, from inception to operation, through evolution and to new or alternative solutions
  • Proposals may be instigated by STAG or on behalf of other groups
  • STAG will liaise with governments, transport forums, International Standards bodies, transport/financial/communication specification bodies and compliance testing initiatives
