BMW Group has signed a long-term agreement with Qualcomm Technologies to supply compute silicon for its next-generation digital cockpit and advanced driver assistance and automated driving systems (ADAS/AD).

The agreement covers vehicle programmes due to begin next decade and spans Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis portfolio, including the Snapdragon Cockpit and Snapdragon Ride platforms.

Under the partnership, Qualcomm will supply the compute hardware underpinning BMW’s future in-vehicle systems, including Snapdragon Elite automotive system-on-chips (SoCs) and dedicated artificial intelligence accelerators. The technology is intended to support AI-powered cockpit functions as well as advanced driver assistance and automated driving capabilities.

The latest agreement builds on an existing relationship between the two companies. In November 2025, BMW launched Snapdragon Ride Pilot in the BMW iX3, the first model in its Neue Klasse vehicle programme.

Snapdragon Ride Pilot was jointly developed by Qualcomm Technologies and BMW and powers the manufacturer’s Symbiotic Drive system, which combines advanced driver assistance technologies with driver engagement.

Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Digital Chassis is an integrated automotive computing platform designed to support multiple vehicle functions, including infotainment, connectivity and automated driving, through a common hardware architecture.

The agreement extends Qualcomm’s role in BMW’s future vehicle development as the manufacturer continues work on its next generation of software-defined, AI-enabled vehicles.
