Momenta has announced the receipt of Germany-wide Level 4 testing approval from the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), marking a key milestone in the company’s growth in Europe.
The KBA’s approval will allow Momenta to test its L4 autonomous driving technology across urban environments nationwide – with Germany’s safety and validation schemes widely considered to be one of the most demanding in the world.
Momenta, with deep roots in Germany, has stated that this permit provides ‘evidence’ that Germany’s regulatory framework ‘rewards safety and capability – wherever they come from’.
Following receipt of the permit, Momenta will be able to validate its technology in urban driving conditions throughout Germany, allowing for the further acceleration of progress within its ongoing projects across the country – including planned robotaxi deployment in Munich.
Momenta’s L4 mobility platform partners include Uber, Grab, and Lumo.
