Momenta has launched commercial operations of its autonomous Robovan in Suzhou, China, deploying the vehicles on express parcel delivery routes in Xiangcheng District.
The deployment marks the latest commercial application of the company’s R7 World Model, with the Robovan designed to support driverless logistics services, including overnight operations, to help complete urban last-mile deliveries.

The Robovan is built using the same autonomous driving technology that underpins Momenta’s passenger vehicle systems. The vehicle meets automotive-grade standards and operates without relying on high-definition maps, instead using a map-free approach developed through its experience in deploying autonomous driving technology in production passenger vehicles.
Momenta said removing the requirement for detailed HD maps enables the Robovan to be introduced more quickly in new locations while reducing deployment costs.
The company attributes the development of its autonomous systems to data collected from more than 12 billion kilometres of real-world driving by production vehicles equipped with its technology. This has generated a dataset of more than 100 million curated driving scenarios, which is used to improve the performance of its autonomous systems across different operating environments.
Momenta introduced its R7 World Model for production vehicles earlier this year and is now extending the platform to commercial logistics applications.
The company’s longer-term strategy is to use a single World Model to support multiple autonomous vehicle types, including passenger cars, robotaxis, robotrucks and robovans. It also intends to apply the technology to other forms of embodied artificial intelligence in the future.
According to Momenta, the expansion of its autonomous logistics platform is intended to improve the efficiency of goods movement while enabling the reuse of autonomous driving technology across different transport applications.
