Bolt has selected NVIDIA’s Alpamayo Stack autonomous-driving software for its planned European autonomous ride-hailing programme, with initial testing in Madrid, Spain, scheduled to begin in 2027.
The programme will initially use Lucid vehicles equipped with NVIDIA Hyperion, a vehicle architecture integrating computing and sensor systems. Bolt and NVIDIA will adapt the autonomous-driving software for European roads, with plans to expand its use across vehicles from multiple manufacturers.

The Madrid programme will collect real-world driving data to support the development and validation of the technology. Germany and France have been identified as priority markets for future deployment.
Bolt plans to roll out at least 25,000 Level 4-ready Lucid vehicles as part of the programme. The company aims to deploy 100,000 autonomous vehicles across Europe and the wider United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) region by 2035.
Bolt Autonomous Driving Solutions will lead the development and commercialisation of the ride-hailing service, drawing on the company’s fleet management infrastructure and mobility platform, which serves more than 200 million customers.
The NVIDIA partnership forms part of Bolt’s wider autonomous mobility strategy, which also includes collaborations with Pony.ai and Stellantis.
