Yulu Wins The Best Smart City Solution Startup at StartUp Awards 2021
Before the Covid-19 pandemic, mobility services such as solo commuting with Yulu witnessed rapid growth in India. However, Covid-19 and the resultant nationwide lockdown had severely impacted the shared mobility sector. While many startup businesses bore the severe impact of it & shut down owing to the lack of digital infrastructure and working capital, some emerged stronger than ever. We took the pandemic as an opportunity to grow & evolve.
Startup Awards 2021 celebrated the achievements of many start-ups like Yulu, for the courage and persistence displayed during the lockdown when we kept the wheels of economy and life churning due to our agility and tech-driven solutions. We’re elated to have not only been nominated but also to have won the ‘Best Smart City Solution Startup’ award on 19th March 2021.
The StartUp 2021 was a twin-powered approach comprising StartUp Awards 2021 along with Founders’ Summit. The awards recognized the efforts of those startups that are thinking in new ways and creating real change through their path-breaking work. Yulu is driven by Internet-of-Things technology that allows people to commute easily and hassle-free through a single application. Reports suggest that road congestion in peak hours among Indian cities averages 149 percent, implying commuters take 1.5 times longer for a peak-hour commute. Our objective has been to declutter the roads and make sure that every commuter has an easy riding experience. We are driven by 3 guiding principles of urban mobility- Affordability, Accessibility, and Availability. With our Yulu Miracle, we have cut down on nearly 4000 tonnes of carbon emission.
