Gliders, or sailplanes, account for 25-30% of aviation midair collisions. Therefore, it’s crucial to train our traffic detection system to recognize them at all times.
However, the task of collecting a sufficiently large dataset proved to be unconventional. You can’t just film a glider, or a group of gliders, from a helicopter, just as you won’t let an elephant into a glass store.
