Energy storage is the core element for the transition of the electric utility system to Smart Grids. Reducing the impact of increases in the electricity retail price, managing the intermittence of renewable energy production or meeting the challenge of demand-response energy balance.
Given the speed of growth and the development of fast and ultra-fast charging stations the energy requirements for charging EVs are increasing faster than the energy available on the grid. Energy Storage can increase the charging capacity of electric vehicles stations through grid reinforcement & flexibility and peak shaving when energy is taken from the batteries rather than the grid.
The modular energy storage system (ESS) can decouple energy production from consumption to better meet consumption needs. By using energy storage to harness the potential of renewable energy to charge batteries, it becomes more efficient in terms of UPS battery monitoring and maintenance to integrate these intermittent sources into the power grid.
SUNSYS HES XXL is a complete and ready to use high power energy storage system for on-grid and offgrid applications. This system is based on standard cabinets: a converter cabinet C-Cab XXL and a battery cabinet B-Cab XXL (CATL) enabling a large variety of configurations in a simple and safe way.
