Iomob has launched its WheelCoin for Business product in the UK to measure transport emissions and incentivise users to choose sustainable modes of travel.

The WheelCoin app automatically detects modes of travel and offers commuters rewards for choosing sustainable transport.

This system can help companies reduce indirect carbon emissions and meet Scope 3 (e.g. indirect emissions produced by employee commuting) emissions reporting goals, as required by the Paris Agreement.

WheelCoin supports employers’ ESG initiatives to accurately measure travel emissions whilst incentivising employees to use greener transport
Adrian Ulisse, Chief Revenue Officer, Iomob said:

Business travel and commuting are a major source of carbon emissions for organisations throughout the UK, if they want to get serious on tackling emissions, WheelCoin provides the missing link which will for the first time, accurately record travel data and simultaneously incentivise and reward greener journeys. At Iomob, we have always believed that simply off-setting carbon emissions from travel is a cop-out, instead we believe we can really change travel behaviour. That’s why we developed WheelCoin to reduce carbon at source, it’s simple to use, affordable to implement and it's available to start using from app stores today.

The WheelCoin app can be downloaded by individual users and implemented by businesses to assist with reporting.

When using the app, employees are incentivised to travel more sustainably by earning WheelCoin tokens on their green travel choices. This includes walking, cycling, using e-scooters, taking the bus, riding the underground and using trams and trains.

Users can then redeem their WheelCoin tokens for green mobility services and offers within the app.

Alongside a company’s own incentive schemes, these rewards aim to further encourage sustainable choices and carbon reduction.

The app can help with companies’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) reporting by giving employers useful indirect emissions data.
