Imagry has announced a partnership with Spanish bus manufacturer UNVI to integrate autonomous driving technology into electric buses designed for public transport.
The collaboration combines Imagry’s AI-based autonomous driving system with UNVI’s M3-category electric buses. Vehicle integration is being supported by UBSI, which is providing procurement, leasing, regulatory compliance, fleet deployment and lifecycle support services.

The partnership is intended to meet increasing demand for zero-emission public transport while addressing ongoing shortages of professional bus drivers.
The first vehicle produced under the partnership is a 10.3-metre autonomous electric bus, which has been supplied for a project in Germany. Integration of the autonomous driving system was completed in less than three months.
The bus has been pre-certified to Whole Vehicle Type Approval (WVTA) under the General Safety Regulation 2 (GSR2) framework, allowing it to meet European regulatory requirements. It is intended for use by public transport operators and transit authorities in urban areas, as well as in controlled environments such as airports, hospitals and university campuses.

Imagry’s autonomous driving platform uses AI-based perception, motion planning and vehicle control technology. The system operates without relying on high-definition maps, enabling location-independent deployment.
