Dirk Hoke, Volocopter CEO, said:

It is an honor for us to receive the French-German Business Award in this landmark anniversary year. Volocopter aspires to become a truly global company, with the first steps scheduled to be taken in Europe, in the spirit of French-German collaboration, with our plans to launch air taxis in Paris by 2024. Volocopter will be the company that writes the next chapter in the aviation history of our two great nations.

Volocopter develops electrically powered air taxis that are set to transform urban transportation with a supplementary form of mobility. The company is working closely with Paris Airports and the city’s public transportation authority (RATP) to bring commercial air taxi services to the French capital by 2024. The Bruchsal-based company recently presented this promising collaboration between these two neighboring countries to French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz during the celebrations to mark the 60th anniversary of the Élysée Treaty.

The French-German Business Award is bestowed every two years by the French-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry to celebrate exceptional collaborations and extraordinary individuals working across these two nations. The Award is under the auspices of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, and the French Ministry of Economics, Finance, and Industrial and Digital Sovereignty.
