Veo has launched North America’s first dockless shared cargo e-bike, the Apollo Cargo.
Unveiled at the NACTO Designing Cities Conference; the Apollo is equipped with throttle assist, front and rear baskets, as well as pannier compatibility and a weight limit of up to 100 pounds.

The e-bike will first be deployed in Washington, D.C. and Columbus, OH, this summer, and features a light-up interface displaying battery level, speed modes and ride info, an integrated phone holder and bluetooth speaker and access to Veo’s own Veo Voice: Advanced IoT system, which offers precise geofencing and on-board speakers to provide real-time verbal guidance about local riding regulations.
Candice Xie, Veo’s co-founder and CEO, said:The future of transportation is about freedom from car dependency.
More than half of daily trips in the U.S. are under three miles—perfect for two wheels, but still out of reach when you need to carry more than just yourself. Cargo e-bikes fill that gap. That’s why Veo is committing to making 50% of our fleet cargo-capable by 2030. Industry research shows people want to do more with micromobility, and cargo is key to unlocking that potential.
The Apollo Cargo is Veo’s seventh vehicle type, with the company currently looking to develop a self-balancing cargo trike, co-designed with members of the disability community.
A recent McKinsey survey has found that almost one-third of respondents now plan to use micromobility on a more frequent bases, with nearly half rethinking their car ownership entirely.
Veo’s own survey has found that 58% of riders would utilise micromobility more often if they had access to a vehicle with the capacity to carry groceries, with 40% not owning or having access to a car of their own.
