Ticketless Rolls-Out on the Multi-Operator Network Trawscymru
Great news from UrbanThings HQ! We’ve just rolled-out our smart-mobility platform Ticketless™ in partnership with the Welsh Government! The solution integrates with multiple operators running TrawsCymru services in Wales.
Ticketless is now live across several routes on the TrawsCymru network in Wales, and integrates with operators First Cymru, Richards Bros and Lloyds Coaches, to provide a single, multi-operator solution. The TrawsCymru passenger app, which is available in both English and Welsh, provides real-time information, mobile ticketing and our new COVID-secure technology. The TrawsCymru team can also see incredible insights such as live vehicle loading and rich passenger data via the Ticketless back-office reporting system.
The next phase of the project will roll-out in December and will allow passengers to make seat reservations for specific services, and to pre-book and reserve tickets via a passenger website. The solution will be available to the whole TrawsCymru network in early 2021.
Minister for Economy, Transport and North Wales, Ken Skates, said:Giving passengers real-time information and a mobile ticketing system will make using the TrawsCymru network more accessible and convenient, and I look forward to seeing the system’s introduction. This will be on a select number of services initially, with a view to a wider rollout including seat booking. Our transport network continues to adjust to the challenges of coronavirus and this is another way to help people travel with confidence. We’ve worked closely with UrbanThings and alongside Transport for Wales to deliver this innovative system for passengers.
TrawsCymru is the second solution to roll-out in Wales in a matter of weeks. Earlier in the month, we launched with Newport Bus in South Wales, providing RTI, mobile ticketing and our COVID-secure predictions technology.
UrbanThings CEO, Carl Partridge, said:We’re very excited to be bringing Ticketless to the Welsh Government and TrawsCymru passengers. Being able to integrate multiple operators into a single streamlined solution, and within such a tight timeframe, was a great achievement by everyone involved. We look forward to the next phase of the project, where we can offer pre-booking and seat reservations to TrawsCymru passengers.
