CES 2022 debuted a new e-mobility experience at the Las Vegas Convention Center to demo e-bikes and e-scooters, alongside relevant micromobility accessories.

The experience was included as part of the transportation and smart cities categories at CES 2022, which took place between 5 January and 8 January.

The 65,000 square foot test track allowed companies to demo their latest e-bikes and e-scooters, while giving attendees the opportunity to test the vehicles’ motors, handling and acceleration features on the hills and ramps.

This e-mobility experience was new to CES and was hosted in partnership with Electric Bike Events LLC in response to the growing demand for alternative electric transportation solutions.

Ned Krause, CEO of CES organiser, E.J. Krause & Associates, said:

Electric bike sales continue to surge in the bike market. E-bikes and e-scooters are some of the hottest mobility products on the market both in the United States and internationally. Bringing a test track and demo area to CES, the most influential tech event in the world, reflects the importance of this growing category.

Over 50 leading micromobility suppliers exhibited their products at CES.

Notably, OKAI launched their new ES800 off-road performance e-scooter at the event, alongside the OKAI SH10 Smart Helmet. These next-generation products are designed to meet the growing needs of the micromobility industry.

The OKAI ES800 e-scooter is fitted with a 1800W motor, 12-inch off-road tyres, and dual shock absorbers to ensure rides remain smooth and stable on varied terrains and steep inclines. Consequently, although e-scooters are typically used on urban streets, OKAI’s new off-road product aims to expand their capabilities.

Furthermore, OKAI’s SH10 Smart Helmet was launched as the first interactive helmet made with antibacterial materials to make rides safer and more hygienic. The helmet’s LED displays can be customised through Bluetooth to improve rider visibility and display directional information, while the smart integrated speaker allows the rider to enjoy audio without compromising their aural awareness of the road.

Jiangtao Lu, Founder of OKAI, said:

CES 2022 gives us a marvellous opportunity to unveil new products that will shape the future of mobility. Our vast experience in the industry allows us to really innovate and create mobile experiences that are safer and smoother than ever.

E-mobility company, Bird also exhibited their latest products at the CES tech show, showcasing their complete e-mobility suite for the first time. Bird’s 3,500 square-foot display featured established products such as the e-assist Bird Bike, the Bird Flex e-scooter, the Bird Three e-scooter, and the shared Bird Bike.
