EasyMile in Commercial Ramp-Up for Driverless Towing with Vehicle Showcase at ProMat

EasyMile, a global leader in autonomous driving solutions, is showcasing its “TractEasy” driverless tow-tractor at the major ProMat 2023 manufacturing and supply chain event in Chicago this week. The company is expanding its footprint in the United States and globally for the solution.

Driverless Towing

EasyMile has been providing solutions for the autonomous transport of people and goods for close to decade, and is known for its expertise in developing and driverless vehicles for passenger transport, and now, material handling.

With a load capacity of 14 tons in autonomous mode, the TractEasy is already deployed at a number of sites around the world to tow heavy items on cross indoor-outdoor routes. It uses a range of sensors and cameras with real-time processing to maneuver independently and efficiently. This includes centimeter-precise localization at any moment, wide-range perception to handle obstacles and enhanced navigation including vehicle to infrastructure (V2X) communication, predictive control, and decisions at intersections and pedestrian crossings.

The solution is being used by the BMW Group Plant Dingolfing in Germany, Daimler Truck AG, and other major automotive manufacturing plants and logistics centers in Europe and the United States. It has also served major airports for baggage and/or cargo towing including the first in the United States, Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, as well as Narita International in Japan, Schiphol in the Netherlands, and operates in a fleet at Changi Airport in Singapore.

It is the most-deployed driverless tow-tractor globally with more than 20 vehicles already in operation.

Daniel Jamerson, Managing Director of EasyMile Inc, said:

ProMat is an excellent platform for us to showcase our driverless towing solution and demonstrate its capabilities to more potential clients in the United States. We are excited to be at the forefront of this technology as we see a real gap in outdoor autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), which our solution can fill.

By leveraging the latest advancements in robotics, computer vision, vehicle dynamics and sensor technology, driverless towing can help companies to move materials and goods around large sites, warehouses, and distribution centers more efficiently and cost-effectively. The TractEasy solution can reduce operating costs by 30%. It also helps to increase the speed and efficiency of operations, and reduces the risk of accidents and injuries on site as autonomous vehicles operate with a high degree of precision.

EasyMile is already deploying its solution in a number of facilities across the United States and is expanding its footprint as a supplier of outdoor driverless towing in the country. The company is committed to providing high-quality solutions that meet the needs of its customers, and is looking forward to building new relationships and partnerships at ProMat 2023.

ProMat 2023 will be held at McCormick Place in Chicago from March 20-23, and EasyMile will be exhibiting at booth N8327. For more information about the event or to learn more about EasyMile’s autonomous driving solutions, visit www.easymile.com.
