Micromobility operators Dott, Lime and TIER have been awarded a three-year contract to each launch a fleet of 2,000 e-scooters in Madrid, Spain.

These vehicles will join an existing fleet of Dott e-bikes which have been operating in Madrid from March 2021.

e-scooters Madrid
Users will have access to new vehicles, featuring large (12”) wheels for stability, front, rear and indicator lights, and a phone holder

The e-scooters will all be fitted with licence plates to ensure rider accountability and will have built-in speed limits set for popular pedestrian areas.

Maxim Romain, Co-founder and COO, Dott, said:

The launch in Madrid marks a turning point for our service in Spain, and a major increase in the number of vehicles we operate there as we bring efficient, safe and environmentally friendly transport to the Capital city. We will bring our experience of collaborating closely with city authorities across Europe to ensure that we offer a reliable service for our riders whilst respecting all other road users and pedestrians.

Users will be able to find and park the e-scooters at one of over 300 parking spots throughout Madrid.

To ensure vehicles are available where and when they are needed, Dott’s software will ensure that vehicles cannot be parked in bays that are full. This system aims to create an even balance of vehicle availability across the city.

At the end of each trip, the rider must take a photo of their parking. 100% of these images will be validated manually to confirm responsible parking.
