Operating as the only company with a fully autonomous ride-hailing service in a purpose-built robotaxi; Zoox has driven almost two million autonomous miles in Las Vegas since its debut last year, carrying more than 350,000 riders.

New features set to be incorporated into the Zoox system include an updated ETA engine that aims to improve precision, along with new pre-booking estimates that aim to give riders a better picture of their potential journey before they commit.

The company is also adding new service and technical capabilities in an effort to reduce wait times, provide more accurate ETAs, and enable smoother driving experiences.

Aicha Evans, CEO, said:

This expansion marks a significant step forward for Zoox and is driven by the insights from our early deployments.

This is our year of growth. We are actively implementing learnings to confidently and safely scale our robotaxi service across the country and bring our differentiated experience to even more riders.

In Las Vegas, Zoox is planning to expand its list of available locations my more than two times that of its current offering, recently adding the Las Vegas Convention Center and a majority of the major hotels along the Strip. Through its partnerships with Sphere and T-Mobile Arena, the company will begin with an initial limited service to high-traffic events at these venues, with service soon set to be available to Zoox employees and open to the public later this spring.

Additionally, recent tests at Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) with its retrofitted testing fleet will be concluded shortly, paving the way for future robotaxi service.

In San Francisco, Zoox has stated that it intends to quadruple its current service. Beginning this spring; the company will expand service to Zoox Explorers across a large portion of the eastern half of the city, including the Marina, North Beach, and Chinatown, as well as Pacific Heights, and along the Embarcadero.

Finally, Zoox is set to launch its robotaxi services in both Austin and Miami, with testing having begun in mid-2024 and an initial rollout expected later this year.
