Yamaha Motor has established a new company, ENYRING GmbH, which is focused on battery management for electric micromobility vehicles.

ENYRING will offer swappable batteries for urban micromobility vehicles, such as e-bikes, via a subscription-based service.

The company will be based in Berlin, Germany and is scheduled to start operations in the first half of 2025.

It will install swappable battery stations throughout its active cities, where subscribed customers can rent and swap batteries for their vehicles.

This system aims to eliminate the hassle of recharging, as well as the cost of purchasing a new battery once one reaches the end of its lifecycle.

Through this service, the company will reuse and recycle batteries to create a closed loop of recycled materials.

The batteries that are no longer suitable for mobility will be reused as storage batteries, disassembled into cells, recycled, and reused as new batteries.
