Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has named its robotaxi service XPENG YOYO and opened online registration to the public in China by invitation code.

The move follows a series of development milestones in 2026, including the rollout of its first mass-produced robotaxi in May and automated pick-up and drop-off trials in July.

XPENG YOYO uses the company’s in-house Turing AI chips and VLA 2.0 AI model. XPENG says the vehicle operates without high-definition maps or LiDAR.

The company plans to work with external partners on operations, generating revenue through vehicle sales, services and commission sharing.

In August, XPENG received approval to conduct autonomous road tests in designated areas of Guangzhou without a safety operator in the driver’s seat.
