WiTricity is partnering with Yutong Bus to provide wireless charging for its autonomous electric buses.

The company’s wireless Halo chargers will initially be used to power Yutong’s Xiaoyu 2.0 autonomous electric minibuses in Zhengzhou, China.

The Level 4 autonomous bus seats 10 passengers has a range of 150 kilometres on each charge.

This project will be the first commercial application of wireless charging for an autonomous electric bus.

Alex Gruzen, CEO of WiTricity said:
