Both Valeo and WiTricity have unveiled their latest electric vehicle (EV) wireless charging solutions at CES 2024 in Las Vegas.
Valeo’s Ineez™ Air Charging
At the event, Valeo is presenting its Ineez™ Air Charging wireless EV charging solution for the first time.
This lightweight solution recharges vehicles inductively, without the use of cables. Thus, as the uptake of electric vehicles continues to grow, it aims to provide an attractive recharging solution for customers.
Ineez™ Air Charging is currently the only wireless solution that uses an ultra-low operating frequency of around 3kHz. In addition, its efficiency is above 90 percent from grid to battery.
The solution is compatible with all wall boxes and national grids worldwide, as well as with all cars equipped with 400-800V batteries.
In addition, it offers Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality and can be installed in both public and private locations.
The company also states that the solution is prepared for a future where autonomous cars will travel to recharge themselves at an inductive charging area.
WiTricity Halo™
Meanwhile, WiTricity has unveiled its wireless charging solution for electric golf cars and neighbourhood electric vehicles (NEVs).
This is in addition to its wireless charging for standard EVs, as demonstrated on a Ford Mach-E at WiTricity’s CES booth.
By expanding the WiTricity Halo™ product to golf carts and NECs, the company aims to respond to the rise in golf cart transportation in the US for people running errands in their community.
Alex Gruzen, CEO of WiTricity said:Consumers have been unequivocal in their desire for wireless charging for EVs of all sizes. It’s exciting to showcase the broad range of wireless charging solutions that are enabled by WiTricity, from new electric vehicles to the rapidly growing market of golf cars on both residential streets and courses. We’re providing people with the freedom to simply park and charge.
WiTricity’s wireless charging solution will be commercially available for golf carts from summer 2024.
