UrbanV and Korea Airports Corporation (KAC) have announced an agreement to develop a series of new vertiport networks, as well as an all new Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) ecosystem.
The two companies have committed to the development of a wealth of joint activities as part of the collaboration, including the creation of a new AAM ecosystem alongside the exchange of technical, operation and regulatory expertise and data.
The pairing will leverage both UrbanV’s regulatory knowledge and KAC’s Air-Corridor Services competencies to implement a strategic cooperation for the design, construction and operation of vertiport networks.
Carlo Tursi, CEO at UrbanV, said:At UrbanV, we aim to improve people’s lives by enabling a fast, efficient, safe, and clean alternative to existing transport solutions for people and goods over short distances, by air. We have the ambition to become a major global operator of vertiport networks and we will be global pioneers in establishing some of the first AAM routes worldwide. We are excited to partner with Korea Airports Corporation, a global leader in its field, and we look forward to exploring opportunities together, enhancing the connection with South Korea in the AAM ecosystem.
KAC, who is currently in the process of developing an in-house Vertiport system with associated vertiport infrastructure for Korea’s first commercial AAM operations in Jeju Island and the Southern Coast Region, will also work with UrbanV to provide tangible support toward feasibility assessment and UAM analysis with stakeholders throughout the collaboration.
Jeong Ki Lee, Acting president at KAC, said:I believe that the strategic partnership with UrbanV, a leading overseas company with the highest capabilities in the UAM vertiport sector, is the first step in gaining recognition for Korea Airports Corporation (KAC)’s technology and expertise in the overseas. We will continuously strive to enhance the competitiveness of Korea’s UAM-related technology by expanding our overseas collaborations.
