Uber Technologies and Momenta have announced new plans to test Level 4 autonomous vehicles in Germany in 2026.

The collaboration will see Momenta’s AI-driven autonomous driving technology integrated into Uber’s ride-hailing platform.

Operations are anticipated to initially be rolled out in Munch, with other European cities expected to follow.

Xudong Cao, CEO of Momenta, said:

Testing L4 autonomous vehicles in Munich allows us to showcase how Momenta’s AI-driven Robotaxi technology can transform urban mobility, as a new chapter in the region’s rich automotive heritage.

The two companies first announced a strategic agreement in May 2025 to introduce autonomous vehicles to the Uber platform in markets outside the US and China.
