Uber has officially announced that riders in Dallas can now be matched with Avride robotaxis, with the company’s fully electric Hyundai Ioniq 5 vehicles now available for booking within the app.
The service will be available across nine square miles of Dallas, with plans to expand territory in the future.

Riders who request an UberX, Uber Comfort, or Uber Comfort Electric may be matched with the all-electric Avride robotaxi at no extra cost.
The option will remain available to accept or switch to a non-autonomous ride if the passenger chooses to do so.
Each journey will be monitored by an an-board specialist before driverless operations begin in the future.
Sarfraz Maredia, Global Head of Autonomous at Uber, said:We’re excited to launch autonomous rides in Dallas with Avride, as we continue to build towards an increasingly electric and autonomous future.
With the world’s largest hybrid network, we’re proving how AVs and drivers can work side by side to make transportation more convenient, sustainable, and affordable for people everywhere.
