The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has marked an advancement in autonomous logistics with the launch of its first commercial fleet of self-driving electric trucks. The deployment is taking place in the Al Jazeera Al Hamra industrial zone in Ras Al Khaimah, an area recognised for large-scale industrial operations.
The initiative results from a collaboration between Evocargo, a developer of autonomous transport and autopilot technologies, and RAK Ceramics, a global manufacturer of ceramics and sanitary ware.

A fleet of Evocargo’s unmanned N1 electric trucks is now used to transport RAK Ceramics’ products within the industrial zone. The vehicles can recognise and respond to road signs, markings, pedestrian crossings, and other infrastructure features in real time. Each truck can travel up to 200 kilometres on a single charge, enabling consistent daily operation without direct human control.
The Evocargo N1 is equipped with a fifth-generation autopilot and an AI-driven multi-sensor perception system that combines data from LIDARs, sonars, and cameras. The information is processed through an onboard computing unit that allows the vehicle to adjust to road and environmental conditions instantly. The system is supported by a four-layer safety framework designed to maintain operational reliability.
Shaheem Musthafa, CEO of Evocargo Autonomous Logistic Services in UAE said:This launch proves autonomous, zero-emission transport is no longer a concept, but a viable solution for daily commercial operations. It’s a transformative step for UAE’s logistics sector – enhancing supply chains, boosting efficiency, and reducing environmental impact. Our Robots-as-a-Service model makes this innovation accessible and scalable, offering businesses subscription-based access to autonomous vehicle without upfront costs.
Sustainability is a key aspect of the project. The all-electric trucks help reduce emissions associated with conventional freight transport and align with the UAE’s national strategies for cleaner industrial operations. For RAK Ceramics, the integration of autonomous electric transport strengthens its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) commitments while improving logistics efficiency.

RAK Ceramics said:Integrating autonomous electric trucks into logistics operations reflects both a commitment to innovation and environmental responsibility. By adopting these advanced technologies, we are enhancing operational performance and efficiency, as well as contributing to a reduced carbon footprint. This initiative represents a significant step in supporting the UAE’s broader vision for sustainable development and demonstrates how industry and sustainability can progress hand in hand.
The deployment signals growing confidence in autonomous vehicle technology for logistics applications and reflects the UAE’s continued investment in digital and sustainable transport solutions.
