WeDRT has been part of the Global Scale-Up programme initiative led by the CivTech Alliance.
Over the past 8 weeks WeDRT has had the pleasure to be part of the CivTech Alliance programme. A Scottish government initiative led by Alexander Holt, that brings together a cohort of companies from around the world to collaboratively solve challenges in a sustainable way to make people’s lives better.
One of this years’ challenges was “How can data and technology help the public sector procure greener services and reduce the environmental impact of the supply chain?”
WeDRT addresses that by providing a sustainable public transport alternative. We fill the gaps that regular public transport cannot reach, like rural or semi-rural areas.
During the programme we’ve had the chance to pitch in front of multiple governments and investors from Ireland; Roger Sweetman head of the Western Development Commission in Galway, Spain; Idoia Ortiz de Artiñano Goñi, Inmaculada González Lozano and Eva duran Sanchez from GOBE and Rocio Suanzes from IE PublicTech Lab, Germany; Eva Sonnenmoser from InnoLab BW, South Australia; Aron Hausler from Go2Gov South Australia and Yonatan Halawa from the Department for Industry, Innovation and Science in Adelaide, Lithuania; Kamila Gasinska from GovTech Lab, Denmark; Mie Weile from the Technical University of Denmark, Denmark, Brazil; Fernando Rabelo from the Ministry of Environment, Greece; Xenophon Tsilimparis the Director for Digital Governance, and Scotland.
To put the cherry on top of the cake, the Egyptian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology invited us to join COP27 and share our companies’ projects during the climate convention in Sharm el Sheikh.
We presented in Dome B at the Green Zone of the COP27 and also at the pavilion of the Applied Innovation Center – MCIT. Special thanks to Pr. Noha Adly for chairing and Dr. Mohamed Azzam – Dep. Sec. Gen. Arab Council of Social Responsibility (ACSR).
It has been an incredible journey and networking experience thanks to the Global Scale-up Programme. We have connected with multiple local authorities around Europe and overseas to understand their transport market better so we can expand and scale WeDRT and WeCommute.
We are in the process of partnering with some of our colleagues from this year’s programme and we’re working closely with GSUP alumni.
One last thank you to all the government partners mentioned above, especially to the Scottish government and the CivTech Alliance.
