Co Charger – the Platform That Lets You Share a Charge Point within Your Local Community
Co Charger is developing a community that helps to accelerate electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Through our app, we enable people who cannot charge a vehicle at home, to do so within quick walking distance of their home. We’re establishing and growing local communities of Co Charger Hosts, enabling people in their immediate locality to charge electric vehicles.
The Co Charger app looks after the ‘matchmaking’ between people with chargers, known as ‘Hosts’ and ‘Chargees’ – those who’d like to share them. It handles the communications, bookings and payments so the whole process is simple, easy and hassle-free.
There are at least 250,000 home chargers in the UK – far more than the 35,000 public chargers currently available. By connecting neighbourhoods and helping motorists share their chargers, Co Charger is enabling the 40% of motorists who live in flats and terraces who aren’t able to charge at home transition to electric cars. This is a switch that millions are eager to make well in advance of the 2030 ban on new petrol and diesel sales. And Co Charger means they can do it now, without waiting for a single additional public charger to be installed.

If you’re interested in switching to an electric vehicle but can’t have a home charger, downloading the Co Charger app will help you find a neighbour who can share theirs. Rather than facing the uncertainty of whether a public charger will be available you’ll have a reliable, affordable and practical way to charge an electric car – and the confidence to invest in one!
