AB Dynamics and Dynamic Research, Inc. (DRI) have announced that the Soft Pedestrian 360 Child has been approved by Euro NCAP for use in its safety ratings testing.
With this latest approval; AB Dynamics’ full range of ADAS targets has now been authorised for official Euro NCAP testing.

With Euro NCAP protocols having expanded significantly in 2026; greater emphasis is now being placed on vulnerable road users (VRUs) and more complex scenarios.
The Soft Pedestrian 360 Child aims to support these requirements by providing a realistic and repeatable target for testing both collision avoidance and AEB systems.
Dr Andrew Pick, Business Director, Track Test Systems at AB Dynamics, said:Euro NCAP’s test protocols have expanded significantly in both scope and complexity in 2026. The variety of scenarios requires test teams to have an extensive range of test equipment to complete all the assessments.
AB Dynamics is the only company that provides everything required for Euro NCAP testing, from targets and platforms to driving robots and control software, all designed to work together seamlessly.
Developed by DRI, the Soft Pedestrian 360 Child aims to accurately replicate the behaviour and sensor signature of a child pedestrian, featuring modular, lightweight construction, foam-encased components with no exposed hard points, age-specific gait and tuned radar/lidar reflectivity.
