The Republic of Serbia has announced plans to support the introduction of electric air taxis, naming US-based Archer Aviation as its preferred partner as the country prepares to host EXPO 2027 in Belgrade.
Under an agreement signed at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Serbia will work with Archer to showcase the company’s Midnight electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. The deal includes an option for Serbia to purchase an initial fleet of up to 25 aircraft, subject to the applicable legal and regulatory framework.

The partnership is intended to support Serbia’s wider objectives of encouraging technological development, improving urban mobility and creating new employment opportunities. Air taxis are expected to form part of the transport offering during EXPO 2027, which will run from May to August 2027 and is forecast to attract millions of visitors from more than 130 countries.
Serbia was awarded the right to host EXPO 2027 following an international selection process. The event will be used to demonstrate new transport technologies while accelerating investment in infrastructure and connectivity in and around Belgrade.
Adam Goldstein, Founder and CEO of Archer Aviation said:I met the President of Serbia last year at the World Economic Forum where we immediately connected over a shared vision for the future of transportation. The Republic of Serbia presents another demand signal for eVTOL aircraft, and another opportunity to deploy our aircraft and build operational expertise.
