Renault Trucks has unveiled new versions of the E-Tech T series of vehicles: the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 585 and the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 780.

The E-Tech T 780 & 585 are focused on range and payload, respectively, whilst the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 540 4×2 remains dedicated to regional distribution.

Increased range on the 780 & 585 units has been achieved by integrating an electric axle, which enables all aspects of the powertrain to be grouped together at the vehicle’s rear – freeing up space between the side members to accommodate additional battery packs.

Each of the new models is fitted with high-energy density NCA (Nickel, Cobalt, Aluminium) lithium-ion batteries, with a specific L-shape design to fit neatly in the new layout.

Touting a kWh capacity of 780; the 780 is capable of travelling up to 600km on a single charge, whilst the 585, which carries 585 kWh of battery capacity, can travel up to 460km on a single charge whilst carrying a payload of up to 28 tonnes.

Both models are fully compatible with charging stations equipped with the ultra-fast Megawatt Charging System (MCS) (up to 720kW), which can provide up to 350km of range in a 45-minute rest period. The vehicles can also be charged at a depot using the standard CCS (up to 350kW).

Renault Trucks has also announced that it will be upgrading its current model, the Renault Trucks E-Tech T 540 4×2, to travel up to 450km on a single charge.

Designed for long-distance driving; the Renault Trucks 6×2 tractor versions E-Tech T 585 and T 780 both feature built-in air suspension, allowing for comfort and manoeuvrability when docking.

In order to guarantee performance and profitability of its electric vehicles; Renault Trucks offers a number of both connected and predictive services, including support through its Optifleet fleet management solution, Serenity Pack, Driver App and Renault Trucks E-Tech Programme consultancy service.

The three new models will be produced at its plant in Bourg-en-Bresse, where vehicles in the electric heavy-duty range – Renault Trucks E-Tech T and Renault Trucks E-Tech C – have been assembled since late 2023, and are available to order now.
