Q-Free, a global leader in mobility solutions for smart city infrastructure, today announced it has won a historic roadside tolling system contract marking the company’s largest deal in Australia, both financially and in scale, since establishing its presence there in 1999.

This milestone contract involves the design, development, supply, and implementation of a new roadside multi-lane free flow tolling system for a major Australian toll road, replacing non-Q-Free equipment on 37 gantries. The project also includes a comprehensive 12-year service and maintenance agreement.

Silje Troseth, Q-Free Vice President APAC, said:

We are extremely proud to be selected as the roadside tolling system provider for this exciting project. It’s rewarding to see our efforts to expand our presence and market share through globally recognized technology and local expertise beginning to bear fruit. We look forward to collaborating closely with the client for many years to come!

This is the seventh major project Q-Free has undertaken in Australia in the last five years, further solidifying its position as a leading toll system provider in the region.  Those projects include Transport for New South Wales’ Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Harbour Tunnel, Transurban’s Cross City Tunnel in Sydney, and more recently the Legacy Way in Brisbane.

Mark Talbot, Q-Free’s Chief Executive Officer, said:

This win is a testament to our team’s perseverance, commitment to understand the customer’s needs, and their ability to effectively leverage our value chain partners to quickly deliver the best solutions.
