HOLON has announced plans to open its first US production facility for autonomous, electric shuttles in Jacksonville, Florida.
This initiative will see HOLON, a subsidiary of BENTELER Group, become the state’s first automotive manufacturer.
The facility is expected to advance the rollout of sustainable and autonomous transportation, with production due to begin in 2026.
The new 500,000-square-foot site will be developed by VanTrust Real Estate. It will produce the first industrialised autonomous electric shuttles in the US, thus addressing urban traffic, climate change, and mobility needs.
HOLON plans to initially hire 150 workers, with potential supply chain growth estimated to create 1,000 jobs.
Petr Marijczuk, COO of HOLON said:We are thrilled to establish our first U.S. manufacturing plant in Jacksonville, marking a milestone not just for HOLON, but for Florida, the United States, and the global autonomous vehicle industry. After an initial ramp-up phase, HOLON anticipates creating up to 150 jobs by 2027. Our Jacksonville plant will produce approximately 5,000 autonomous movers annually in one shift, making them more accessible and quicker to the market worldwide.
HOLON will produce a fully electric and autonomous shuttle, built to meet Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and Buy America requirements.
With a 37 mph top speed and capacity for up to 15 passengers, the shuttles are designed for ride-hailing, on-demand services, and scheduled transit.
HOLON is collaborating with Beep to integrate these shuttles into various mobility networks. Through this partnership, Beep will manage the deployment, operation, and planning of the vehicles, powered by their AI-driven platform AutonomOS™.
