The partnership combines Hitachi’s digital and operational capabilities with the Optibus AI platform, offering bus operators the ability to manage risk and cost when electrifying their fleet. Hitachi’s turnkey solution will support both the preparation for, delivery of and post transformation optimisation of the fleets.

Head of EV for Hitachi Europe, Mike Nugent, said:

Partnering with Optibus signals our ambition to be a global leader in net zero fleet operations. Building on our own digital capability, Optibus helps us deliver zero carbon transport and supports our strategy of providing long-term turnkey solutions to our key clients.

The Optibus AI platform powers mass transportation operations in over 450 cities around the world. The company is a sector leader with a deep understanding of the challenges facing fleet optimisation prior to electrification and the delivery of optimised fleets post electrification.

Optibus CEO and co-founder, Amos Haggiag, said:

We all want to live in cities which are easy to get around and free from pollution. We are excited to be working with Hitachi to make that a reality as we work together to reduce CO2 emissions across Europe and beyond.

The two companies share a commitment to reducing CO2 emissions and making cities more sustainable. Hitachi, a climate change innovator, has recently become a Principal Partner for COP26 and is a member of the UN’s Race to Zero campaign through the Business Ambition for 1.5°C.
