Gogoro has launched a Scooter Key feature in Apple Wallet for its Smartscooters in Taiwan.
This new feature allows riders to seamlessly and securely lock, unlock and start their Smartscooters using their iPhone or Apple Watch.
In addition, Gogoro will be integrating Apple Find My Network into specific new Smartscooters, such as the Gogoro CrossOver S to help riders locate their vehicles via the Find My app.
Gogoro specialises in battery-swapping ecosystems to enable sustainable mobility in cities globally, including in China, the Philippines, Korea, India and Singapore.
Now, its customers in Taiwan will be able to unlock their Smartscooters by holding their Apple device near the vehicle’s NFC-enabled reader. They will also be able to easily share their scooter key with other iOS users.
This feature is active on Gogoro SuperSport TCS, Gogoro Delight, Gogoro CrossOver, and Gogoro CrossOver S Smartscooters.
If an iPhone or Apple Watch needs to be charged, users will still be able to use the device to unlock their scooter with Power Reserve.
Consequently, Gogoro states that this features provides additional convenience and security benefits for its customers.
