Global Mobility Call, the Platform to Lead Sustainable Mobility in Europe, Launches Its Second Edition In France

The Global Mobility Call will bring together 10,000 professionals, CEOs, institutional leaders and experts in IFEMA MADRID’s Recinto Ferial from 12 to 14 September.

Paris, 22 March 2023 – Yesterday in Paris, IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub presented the second edition of the Global Mobility Call to companies, institutions and experts leading sustainable mobility development. This International Congress-Expo will be held in the Madrid Recinto Ferial from 12 to 14 September.

Around 50 representatives from French companies in the mobility sector attended the launch of the second edition of the Global Mobility Call in France on Wednesday. These included companies working with energy supply, mobility services providers, micromobility solutions, infrastructure managers and vehicle manufacturers.

The European market for sustainable mobility generates billions and is set to skyrocket in 2030, thanks to €800 billion provided by NextGenerationEU funds, the majority of which is being used for mobility projects.

Transport is responsible for a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions in European countries. Rapid solutions will be required as mobility demands rise. This is why decarbonisation, energy efficiency and smart mobility are a priority for national, regional and local governments, as well as for companies, to ensure they achieve the goals of the European Green Deal, the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals and continue to be profitable in an increasingly demanding social and financial environment in terms of green credentials.

In its second year, the Global Mobility Call will be a meeting place for this new integrated sustainable mobility ecosystem, where companies, public institutions and specialists can draw up practical solutions for the sustainable mobility of people and goods.

David Moneo, director of Global Mobility Call, said:

This event will be a particularly privileged platform for French companies. France is Spain’s main trade partner and we have excellent bilateral relations. The hydrogen corridor project driven by our countries along with Portugal and the EU is just one example of this cooperation, but there are many others already in place and even more to come, which we hope to show the world in September in Madrid.

Christine Allard, president of the Official Spanish Chamber of Commerce in France and head of Institutional Relations and Communication of Sanef, said:

The challenges of low-carbon mobility are absolutely essential for the coming years. Supporting Global Mobility Call seems to us fundamental to promote new ideas, new technologies and find solutions for a low-carbon and intelligent mobility.

The 2023 Global Mobility Call will have integrated Congress and Expo spaces to promote reflection and action: GMC Congress, with 8 thematic itineraries: Sustainable and efficient transport; Energy transition towards net-zero; Mobility solutions for citizens; Smart and liveable towns and regions; The transformation of the automotive industry towards mobility services; Best sustainable corporate strategies and business practices for fairer, cleaner and inclusive economic development; Technology and innovation as drivers of transformation in mobility; and Talent and future employment.

GMC Expo will be made up of 13 main areas of sustainable mobility. It will provide a space for networking and showcasing new developments in the sector. Participation in GMC Expo offers companies and public entities the opportunity to enhance their leadership position, reputation and influence in the sustainable mobility ecosystem; to participate in new public-private investment and generate new opportunities and business relationships with new clients and partners through high-level networking.

IFEMA MADRID and Smobhub are organising the Global Mobility Call under the auspices of the Spanish Government via the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and the Urban Agenda, and Madrid region and city. GMC2023 will have a strong institutional presence, with the participation of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces and the main Spanish and European business and institutional associations, making the Global Mobility Call the biggest international marketplace for sustainable mobility, where public and private actors can sign new trade and collaboration agreements.
