In partnership with MAN Truck & Bus, FC Bayern Munich is set to build a High Power Charging (HPC) Hub for electric trucks and buses at the Allianz Arena.

The charging hub will be powered entirely by green electricity, representing a key step in enhancing the stadium’s sustainability.

FC Bayern to build charging hub at Allianz ArenaThis initiative also marks the extension of FC Bayern’s partnership with MAN, which commenced in 2008 and will now continue until 2027.

As part of this renewed collaboration, FC Bayern’s first team will begin using an electric team bus for home matches from 2026.

FC Bayern CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen said

Our society faces big challenges, particularly in the protection of our environment and the climate. For us, the public charging hub for commercial vehicles is a continuation of our sustainability efforts to manage the Allianz Arena in an increasingly climate-friendly way. It is the next drive in a constantly evolving environmental programme that has been producing improvements for many years. Everyone wins with this project: FC Bayern, MAN, society and, most importantly, the environment.

The Allianz Arena is located at the Munich-North motorway junction. Up to 30 charging points will be installed at the stadium in three phases. This will enable up to 500 electric buses and trucks to be charged daily on non-matchdays.

The project thus aligns with the European Union’s goal of reducing CO2 emissions from heavy commercial vehicles by 90% by 2040.

Alexander Vlaskamp, CEO of MAN Truck & Bus said:

Decarbonising vehicle fleets is essential to meeting the Paris climate targets. By 2030, we aim for half of our trucks to be electric, and the development of charging infrastructure is vital to this goal. We're grateful for collaborative projects like this one with FC Bayern.
