Geotab and Driving for Better Business Forge Partnership to Promote Driver Safety
Partnership will include a range of initiatives to promote fleet safety best practices including how data can improve driver behaviour.
Geotab Inc. (“Geotab”), a global leader in connected transportation and telematics solutions, is pleased to announce its new partnership with Driving for Better Business (DfBB), a National Highways-backed organisation, promoting driver safety and business knowledge hub across the transport industry.
According to Driving for Better Business, five people statistically die on UK roads each day, with 50-60 seriously injured. Together with Driving for Better Business, Geotab aims to raise awareness about the importance of driver safety and help businesses across the transport industry improve their safety practices.
This partnership is a strategic move for Geotab, with data-driven safety at the heart of its product offering to fleet operators. MyGeotab®, the web-based fleet management platform that is available to all Geotab customers, unites key safety-focused features including driver safety reporting, coaching, and dash cam integration. Fleet operators can gather and share vehicle and driver insights in near real-time–from fault identification to driving habits, to ultimately helping cut insurance premiums, optimise vehicle maintenance and performance, and ensure driver safety is maximised.
David Savage, Vice President, UK & Ireland, Geotab, said:At Geotab, we process approximately 55 billion data points every day across more than 3.5 million vehicles. Safety is a critical focus for us, and we are thrilled to partner with Driving for Better Business to support them in this endeavour.
Our mission for safety aligns perfectly with Driving for Better Business's efforts to create a safer driving culture across the transport industry, and we’re excited to see how we can work together to achieve this common goal.
Anne-Marie Penny, National Highways lead for Driving for Better Business, added:Being a DfBB partner means sharing our vision and Geotab certainly does that. They are invested in improving the safety of those who drive for work and empower employers to manage this better. I'm hugely excited about the knowledge and good practice that we can share with our networks to make the roads safer for all.
The partnership will include the sharing of resources, expertise, support and thought leadership for promoting safety within the logistics and fleet sector.
