EVBox Group Calls on Leaders at COP26 to Recognize EV Charging Infrastructure as Critical to Meeting Paris Agreement Targets
- EVBox Group, a leading provider of flexible and scalable charging solutions for electric vehicles, will call for the accelerated adoption of electric vehicle charging infrastructure. As a representative of the EV charging industry, EVBox Group will speak on the necessity of establishing quality charging infrastructure across the globe in order to meet the goals set out in the Paris Agreement.
EVBox Group has announced its participation at COP26 in Glasgow. At the event, EVBox Group will stress the importance of embracing electric mobility and establishing reliable EV charging infrastructure in a bid to reduce carbon emissions.
This year’s COP is the 26th annual summit addressing the climate crisis and its impact on our planet. At the center of the summit sits the ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) 2030 emissions goals designed to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels by 2050. The call for international collaboration is stronger than ever given the importance of making significant progress before the end of the decade.
COP26 will have to highlight the need for carbon-neutral transport across the globe—not only for the health of our planet but for our communities and global economy. Given that EV charging infrastructure plays a pivotal role in the adoption of electric mobility, there is a clear need for policymakers to acknowledge the importance of creating a comprehensive plan for the deployment of quality, scalable infrastructure.Hugo Pereira (Chief Growth Officer at EVBox Group)
Driving the Conversation on Electric Mobility
As a member of the TDA (Transport Decarbonisation Alliance), EVBox will join a panel discussion addressing the need for businesses, NGOs, and governments to adopt carbon-neutral transportation. EVBox Group will use this opportunity to speak on behalf of the EV charging industry, asking politicians, policymakers, and businesses to take action against the impending climate crisis. In order to help reach the goals set out at COP26, the global adoption of electric mobility must be prioritised.
EVBox will also be joined on stage by Isbrand Ho (Managing Director of BYD Europe B.V), Andreas Foller (Head of Sustainability at Scania), and Sharon Dijksma (Mayor of Utrecht, the Netherlands), among other distinguished international guests.
