Canadian transport specialist Greenline has chosen a potential landing site for its fleet of battery-electric commuter ferries.

Following an extensive two-year search, the company has identified the dock facility at Harbour Green Park as a contender for future operations within Vancouver.

The downtown site was ultimately chosen due to its existing accessibility infrastructure, with Greenline aiming to make any and all necessary modifications to accommodate its new fleet before operations commence.

The company has stated that Harbour Green Park will remain unchanged, with no access restrictions to the public planned to be introduced.

Greenline has also stated it intends to install a new charging facility on a new dock segment on-site. Work on the charging facility has been steadily underway with partners BC Hydro since September 2024.

Services at the Harbour are due to begin operation in 2027, with Greenline boats planned to arrive seven times per day, with four journeys from Gibsons and three from Bowen Island.

Thus far, Greenline has been working closely with mayors, councillors and commissioners across Vancouver, Gibsons and Bowen Island in order to ensure the best outcome for all parties involved.
