Autonomous mobility provider Beep has announced an expanded partnership with Mattamy Homes to enable “smart and sustainable” growth as more homes are built in Tradition, Florida.
Under this partnership, Beep’s autonomous shuttles will be used to connect current and future destinations within Tradition. This will support Mattamy Homes’ plan to add more than 1,000 new homes in the area in 2023.
To manage this growth, the existing autonomous shuttle network in Tradition will expand to connect new residential communities to the centre of Tradition Square and its surrounding shops and restaurants.
Joe Moye, Beep CEO said:Mattamy’s vision to implement and integrate a variety of technologies within the Tradition community shows a commitment to innovation – reflected by the expansion of autonomous use cases that ultimately improve quality of life for its residents. Tradition offers the right mix of residential options, entertainment, goods and services to support the safe implementation and testing of autonomous shuttles to demonstrate what a community of the future can be.
Tradition’s 100% electric autonomous shuttle network, known as TIM (Tradition in Motion) launched in December 2020. It has since transported more than 17,000 passengers and replaced more than 9,500 traditional vehicle trips.
Its future expansions include adding an additional six miles to the TIM network with more than five miles of dedicated path for the autonomous shuttles.
Dan Grosswald, Mattamy President of Southeast Florida Division said:Our partnership with Beep enables us to integrate modern technology into the fabric of the community intended to let you live and connect with ease to your neighbours and everything the community has to offer without sacrificing Tradition’s charm.
