Micromobility operator, Beam has launched its ‘Beam for Business’ programme to help businesses encourage workers to return to the office while reducing carbon emissions.

The new programme allows businesses to sign up to the programme and offer their employees free travel on Beam’s e-scooters and e-bikes.

The launch of ‘Beam for Business’ is a regional first in South Australia (SA)

To benefit from this scheme, users can set up a dedicated business profile on the Beam app. They can then switch between their personal and business profile, with their employer covering the cost of any work-related travel.

This feature is designed to help businesses incorporate micromobility into their transport plans.

It also provides companies with a dashboard that outlines the number of kilometres travelled on Beam’s Certified Climate Neutral e-scooters. Employee trips will then contribute towards their carbon emissions reduction strategies.

‍Beam Head of Business Development (ANZ) Adam Rossetto said:

We see Beam for Business forming part of the arsenal of a business helping their workers get to and from work, as well as around town during the day for meetings and work commitments, all whilst being environmentally friendly.

As part of the Beam for Business program, we assist companies in tracking how far their employees have travelled on our Certified Climate Neutral e-scooters, supporting them in their carbon emissions reduction plans.

South Australian planning firm, URPS has become an early adopter of this new initiative as part of its plan to ensure a strong, workplace culture.

URPS Managing Director, Matthew King said:

The challenge for us, as business leaders, is to keep coming up with new and inventive ways to make being in the office cool again. Our SA-first collaboration with Beam is another part of that overall effort. It’s a practical way that we can do our part to help our staff reduce some of their transport costs, where possible, while at the same time supporting the city and the environment.
