An additional 1.3 billion GBP has been pledged toward the adoption of electric cars in England as Chancellor Rachel Reeves has announced extensions to the current scheme as part of the 2025 Autumn Budget.

The extra funding will bring the total available to 2 billion GBP, with the Chancellor also committing to the extension of the grant itself to run until 2030.

Meanwhile; electric vehicle (EV) owners in England will soon be subject to a new mile-based tax, also announced during the Autumn Budget.
