ABB and Eviny have collaborated on the first installations of the Terra 360 electric vehicle (EV) charging station, which ABB claims to be the world’s fastest electric car charger.
ABB’s Terra 360 is now available in Norway at the Oasen Shopping Center in Bergen and the Geilo ski resort in Havsdalen thanks to ABB’s partnership with Norwegian e-mobility leader, Eviny. The pilot installations will be followed by a widespread roll-out across Norway and Sweden.
Frank Muehlon, CEO of ABB E-mobility said:Having recently unveiled the Terra 360 to the world, these are truly landmark launches which we are delighted to partner with Eviny on. Norway is setting the global standard when it comes to the e-mobility transition and we are excited to hear the reaction of EV drivers in one of the most advanced nations for EV adoption.
Each Terra 360 charging station can simultaneously charge up to two electric cars in 15 minutes or less, therefore providing a highly convenient charging solution for EV drivers. As Norway aims to become the first country to end the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2025, it is imperative to ensure charging stations are attractive and accessible. The Terra 360 is therefore easy to use, quick and easy to deploy, and wheelchair-friendly.
The installations demonstrate ABB’s technological capabilities in extreme weather conditions and build upon Eviny’s efforts to facilitate Norway’s EV transition, having already installed more than 400 fast chargers in more than 150 locations across the country.
Eviny CEO, Jannicke Hilland said:For several years we have been involved in the Norwegian transition into e-mobility. We know how important a reliable fast charging experience is when choosing an electric car over a fossil-fuelled car. The e-mobility transition is happening lightning fast here in Norway, and to continue to lead the change, we need the fastest chargers. We are proud to be the first in the world to take the ABB's Terra 360 in use.
